Dr. Patel and Dr. Khosla have known each other since 1982. They were married in May of 1988, just after Dr. Patel finished her first year at the University of Texas dental School, and her husband was about to start his first year at the university.

Dr. Patel has been in private practice in Houston since 1991. She has worked in group practice as well as with a child specialist (Pedodontist) and also practices Orthodontics (braces).

Dr. Khosla joined private practice in 1993 after finishing a residency program at the VA hospital. He enjoys general dentistry as well as Oral and Gum Surgery.

They bought their first private practice in 1995, and a year later in 1996 successfully merged it with a second private practice and incorporated it as Spring Branch Family Dentistry. Although she worked full time until 1998, when her husband Dr. Khosla joined her, Dr. Patel has been able to enjoy raising her two kids as well as work part-time as a general dentist.

Dr. Patel and Dr. Khosla attribute their success to "treating the patient as a person, whether they are 85 or only 5 years old, and never forgetting that a person is more than just a mouth full of teeth.

Their office staff includes a full-time office manager, two full-time dental assistants, and four part-time assistants.
